Virtual Behavior-Based Robotics: Hospital Robots

Some of the behavior-based approach to programming robots is used in hospitals. Robots are increasingly used in hospitals to deliver medical supplies to doctors, nurses, and patients. Here is one example.

Aethon's "Tug" Hospital Robot

The robot below is the Aethon "Tug". Three videos demonstrate the Tug's capabilities and usefulness in a hospital. We thank Aethon for sharing blueprints of some of the Tug's design but they could not share the AI programming that controls the Tug's navigation -- that is a "trade secret." But we are fairly sure that they make use of some of the behavior-based programming that you will employ on the next page when you do the "Ethology Lab".
