MODULE DESCRIPTION This module raises the question, "Is it possible to build a person?" Various qualities of persons are discussed, including intelligence, self-awareness, the ability to make moral decisions, consciousness, etc. Students are challenged to develop their own criteria of personhood and to consider whether or not those properties could be "mechanized" and built into a machine.
